What Is Spiritual Authority?
You were not saved to just survive. You are a child of THE King.
"Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy."
— Luke 10:19
When Jesus sent out the seventy-two disciples, He didn't send them out hoping for the best. He sent them out with authority — real, delegated, heaven-backed authority over every work of the enemy.
That same authority belongs to you. Not because of how long you've been a Christian, how many chapters of the Bible you've memorized, or how good you've been this week. It belongs to you because of who Jesus is and what He accomplished on the cross.
"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go…"

Notice what Jesus said: all authority. Not some. Not a portion reserved for the especially holy. All of it. And then He said "therefore go" — meaning that authority is the reason you can move, act, pray, and declare with confidence.
Authority Is Not Arrogance
Walking in spiritual authority is not about being loud, aggressive, or self-important. It is about knowing who your Father is and acting accordingly. A child of a king doesn't beg for what already belongs to them — they walk in the confidence of their inheritance.
God is not looking for people who are impressive. He is looking for people who are available and surrendered — people who know that the power at work in them is not their own.

How to Walk in It Today
Spiritual authority is activated through relationship, not ritual. The closer you are to Jesus, the more naturally His authority flows through your words and actions. Here are three simple ways to begin walking in it today:
- 01Speak with intention.Your words carry weight. Pray out loud. Declare scripture over your life, your family, and your circumstances. Don't just think it — say it.
- 02Resist passivity.The enemy's greatest tool against believers is not temptation — it's passivity. Authority is not passive. It acts, it prays, it stands firm.
- 03Stay rooted in the Word.Jesus resisted every temptation with scripture. The Word is your foundation. The more of it that lives in you, the more authority you carry.
"You are not a victim of your circumstances. You are an ambassador of the Kingdom of God — and ambassadors carry the full weight of the one who sent them."
